Propaganda
Why? - objectives of the U.S. government for the propaganda campaign were recruitment, financing the war effort, unifying the public behind the war effort and eliminating dissent of all kinds, resource conservation, and factory production of war materials. The most common themes found in the posters were the consequences of careless talk, conservation, civil defense, war bonds, victory gardens, “women power”, and anti-German and Japanese scenarios.
Purpose - The purpose of propaganda posters during World War II was to inspire the Americans to help out their country. Some were made to let people know that women are now taking over their husbands' positions to take care of the family, people should save and spend wisely to provide for the war, and most were to encourage the people to take part in the war.

Different Forms - Propaganda didn't necessarily have to be a propaganda poster, but it can be expressed in many forms such as documents, songs, cartoons, artwork, and movies that have triggered different perspectives on issues. Propaganda was beneficial because it boosted moral, which was very important during WWII.
Messages and Promotion - Propaganda during World War II usually had a general message. It was about men going to war, women going to work in factories, and winning the war. They promoted the importance of all of these things and they needed everyone to do what these posters ask.http://www.nationalww2museum.org/learn/education/for-students/ww2-history/at-a-glance/propaganda-posters.html
Items Recycled - The U.S. Government asked all people to save paper, aluminum, copper, iron and steel, tin, rubber, silk stockings, and cooking fat to be recycled. They asked people to recycle these because the U.S. had to spare every penny to save up for the war so that they could buy and make war supplies.http://blogs.baylor.edu/propagandaovertime/
